Tradition and Revelation

The Australian Gnostic Association is an esoteric school whose fundamental aim is the liberation, happiness and freedom of the person as a soul or spiritual Being. As a school it has its teachings and methods that are designed to assist a person to unfold their spiritual reality in accordance with their own volition and capacity. These teachings- from meditation, to the functions of the mind and psychology, to the mystical studies of alchemy, kabalah, the tarot etc.- form the body of the Gnostic doctrine, or the tradition of Gnosis. Any tradition exists simply as a guide; it is there to provide a language, a context, in which a person can work to understand themselves and their world.

Gnostic Means For Expression

The divorce between science and art, between philosophy and mysticism has provoked the wear and tear of this generation... We no longer appreciate the poetry of nature, the harmony which is inferred from the entire Universe and, thereby, Human relations have become cold, our heart is not moved by human pain.

The Gnostic teaching is based on the communion between science, philosophy, art and mysticism, and seeks to rescue social life’s most elevated individual values.

It comprehends that life is empty if it does not pursue transcendence, the realization of the Being. This would not be possible without developing superior emotion, which humanizes science, sublimates art, elevates philosophy and crystallizes mysticism.

Gnosis is the poetry of understanding, the rose of philosophy, the Light of science, the eternal mystical Spring.
